CÂND INIMA SE ASCUNDE ÎNTRE PIETRE DE MARE

Când sufletul meu întunericu-așteaptă

și se zbate între cioburi de stele,

te caut în vis, căutare nedreaptă,

nu-i nimeni pe urmele mele

Tu ai fost tot ce mi-am dorit,

și tot ce mi-ai fost mi-amintesc,

te-am iubit într-un vis infinit,

te-am iubit într-un fel nelumesc

Și poate o să-mi fac curaj

să fiu din nou vultur în zbor,

îngerii au intrat în sevraj

de atâta lumină și dor

Inima se ascunde între pietre de mare,

furtuni nemiloase or s-atace,

e o durere atât de sfâșietoare

încât întunericul tace...

WHEN THE HEART HIDES AMONG SEA STONES

When my darkened soul lies in wait
and writhes among shards of stars,
I search for you in dreams — an unfair search,
there is no one following in my tracks.

You were all that I ever desired,
and all that you were to me, I remember.
I loved you in an endless dream,
I loved you in an unearthly way.

And perhaps I’ll find the courage
to be once more an eagle in flight;
the angels have gone into withdrawal
from so much light and longing.

The heart hides among sea stones,
merciless storms will strike again;

CUANDO EL CORAZÓN SE ESCONDE ENTRE PIEDRAS MARINAS

Cuando mi alma oscurecida espera
y se agita entre fragmentos de estrellas,
te busco en sueños — una búsqueda injusta,
no hay nadie siguiendo mis huellas.

Fuiste todo lo que deseé,
y todo lo que fuiste para mí lo recuerdo.
Te amé en un sueño infinito,
te amé de una manera no terrenal.

Y quizá reúna el valor
de volver a ser águila en vuelo;
los ángeles han entrado en abstinencia
por tanta luz y anhelo.

El corazón se esconde entre piedras marinas,
tormentas implacables volverán a atacar;
es un dolor tan desgarrador
que incluso la oscuridad calla…
